We are all very lucky to be able to enjoy some of our country's most beautiful natural treasures.  To use and enjoy these magnificent resources is a simple luxury we should all be grateful for.  The following activity and service based companies have met or exceeded 5 of the following requirements to preserve what we have right now so that others can enjoy it 10, 20, and 30 years from now.

Activities/Services Guidelines & Standards

 

  1. Recycle.
    The company must participate in local recycling program and encourages clients to do the same.
  2. Reduce.
    The company encourages small group activities therefore having less of an impact on the natural surroundings.
  3. Reuse.
    The company encourages clients to use reusable containers as well as providing reusable materials themselves.
  4. Offsets Carbon Footprint.
    Each company calculates annual footprint based on business use by purchasing carbon offsets.
  5. Emphasizes Responsible Travel.
    Clients are encouraged to consider the surroundings during activity and throughout their vacation.
  6. Paperless Business Procedures.
    Each business utilizes paperless communication and transactions and offers paperless confirmations and e-receipts.
  7. Eco-friendly Marketing Material.
    All company material to be designed eco-friendly.
  8. Go Local.
    The company buys and supports local businesses.
  9. Educate Guests About Ecotourism.
    Clients are educated about the green actions they take and why those actions are important as well as encouraged to take their own green actions.
  10. Educate Employees About Ecotourism.
    Company employees are educated about the green actions the business takes and encouraged to take their own green actions such as carpooling or public transportation.
